Litigation Secretary - Civil Litigation

An established and well-respected San Diego law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to join our busy downtown office. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced civil litigation environment and values collaboration, professionalism, and work-life balance.
We are looking for a team member with a minimum of five years of experience supporting a complex civil litigation practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and organize litigation documents and case files
- Prepare draft documents, shells, pleadings, and correspondence
- Handle state and federal court filings, including e-filing
- Prepare draft Judicial Council forms for court hearings
- Support attorneys with deposition and trial preparation, including exhibits, witness binders, and trial calendaring
- Manage trial deadlines, reminders, and litigation calendars
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, vendors, and third parties
- Utilize document management, word processing, spreadsheets, forms systems, and related software applications
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of litigation secretary experience
- Strong working knowledge of legal terminology, concepts, and procedures
- Familiarity with California Rules of Court and federal filing requirements
- Excellent proofreading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time-management, and project-management abilities
- High level of professionalism and sound judgment
- Experience working within law firm practice groups
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software, formatting, TOCs/TOAs, and Bates labeling
- Experience with document management systems (iManage preferred)
- Bachelor's degree a plus

California Pay Range: $35 - $42 per hour
(Final compensation commensurate with experience and skillset.)
